A 96 year-old woman who has voted in every election she was able to vote in, except in 1960 when she moved and wasn’t able to register in time, was denied a new voter id. She had everything she needed except a marriage license proving she had taken her late husbands name.
If this isn’t a perfect case of voter disenfranchisement, I don’t what it is. And this is exactly what was intended by the new rules requiring voter ids.
